The rapid growth of technology has created new opportunities for small enterprises in terms of digital transformation. While in the past, implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system was an expensive and time-consuming prospect, the rise of software-as-a-service (SaaS) today enables any enterprise to access state-of-the-art software at highly accessible prices.
Whether deployed in parallel to a traditional ERP system or an accounting / inventory system, or implemented as an integrated platform, the explosion in SaaS provides executives with the potential for rapid implementation and deployment of cutting-edge solutions.
The transformation in digital technology today is such that, in our opinion, the challenge is no longer the technology itself: it is the capability of an enterprise to accept new forms of value chain, process and task management in an environment of transparency and accountability.
This in turn requires renewed attention to core assumptions on work organisation, business process flow, authorization procedures, business model transformation and internal work culture. Such assumptions have often been held for generations, especially in family businesses, and are some of the key barriers to adapting to digital transformation.
In order to support small enterprises prepare for the challenge, Navigator Consulting developed and implemented a 2-day, executive training programme entitled
Enterprise Digital Transformation using Project Management Techniques.
This programme builds on some 30 years of experience with digital technology, corporate restructuring and strategic growth experienced by Navigator Consulting since our foundation in 1995. Unlike theoretical training programmes, our training incorporates a mix of strategic foundation, business process methodologies, comprehensive technology and software demonstrations and on-site consulting.
Navigator’s Enterprise Digital Transformation programme includes the following subjects:
Review of emerging technologies: Introducing participants to new technologies and their impact on business and the economy. This is accompanied by a deep dive into technologies and platforms as diverse as Zoho, Asana, Bitrix24, Atlassian, Microsoft, Synthesia, ChatGPT, Google Notebook and others.
Improving productivity and efficiency: Optimization of workflow using digital tools in order to increase and automate key decisions and processing time.
Competitive advantage: Supporting enterprises develop differentiation and better resource usage by leveraging new technologies. This includes detailed growth management and operational management strategies.
Data-driven decisions: Increasing analytic skills and developing data sources, enabling more accurate, data-driven decisions.
Project management: Improving digital project implementation through detailed training on waterfall and agile project management, budgeting and ROI methodologies and digital outsourcing and contracting best practise.
The attending enterprises represented a cross-section of the Cypriot economy and included leading property developers, ship management firms, advertising companies, legal firms, manufacturers, chemical distributors and more.
The training programme is followed by a one-day individual company consultation for each participating company in Cyprus. The consultation visits are adapted to fit individual and specific needs of every company and will be completed by December 2024.
The training programme was developed and delivered by Philip Ammerman, co-founder of Navigator Consulting. Philip is a highly experienced technology strategist and investment advisor who has been involved in the tech sector since 1995. The training was coordinated by Aina Judyte, Navigator’s operations manager.
The training programme was organised by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and supported by the Human Resources Development Authority of Cyprus. We would like to thank both organisations for their trust and long term support.
