Janna Fortmann

Janna Fortmann is Partner of Navigator Consulting Group. She specialises in the strategic development of enterprises and institutions, with a focus on investment planning, organisational change and management development. She has extensive sectoral experience in renewable energy, energy efficiency, building materials and manufacturing.
Janna is currently supporting the Lebanon Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Financing Facility (LEEREFF), a € 2.5 million project. She is also supporting the EU4Business SME Credit Line in Georgia and Moldova, training partner banks and other investment institutions in financing renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions.
From 2013 to 2017, Janna has led or supported a range of additional credit lines and financing facilities, including KyrSEFF, the Kyrgyzstan Sustainable Energy Financing Facility; TurSEFF, the Turkey Systainable Energy Financing Facility, and KazSEFF, the Kazakhstan Sustainable Energy Financing Facility.
From 2008 to 2012, Janna managed the $ 260 million Turkish Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (TURSEFF). TURSEFF was established by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Union’s Climate Investment Funds. This comprises a credit line for industrial companies, commercial enterprises and private households wishing to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
Janna has played a major role in a number of Navigator projects, including the European Training Foundation’s “Strengthening of Partnership between Management Training Institutions and Companies” project (1999 – 2003). She has participated in and led over 60 due diligence, investment assessment, market research, business planning and organisational development projects in Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, France, UK, Germany and other countries.
Janna started her career in the UK, working as a consultant with the Building Services Research and Information Association, where she worked on international market and sectoral research projects relating to building materials and construction projects. From 1992 – 1995, she was a senior consultant at Kienbaum und Partner GmbH, based in Dusseldorf, Germany. She worked as a consultant at PE Consulting (London) from 1995 to 1997, and as an Associate Director at Audits and Surveys Europe (London), from 1997 – 1999.
She earned an MBA Webster University (London) in 1989, and Diplom Wirtschaft (MA Economics) from the Westfaelische Wilhelms University (Munster) in 1986. Janna speaks fluent German and English, as well as Russia and Turkish.
Janna lives in Germany and travels over 200 days per year.
