The Athens Tech Summit is a three-day conference and exhibition exploring the future of technology and its impact on our society, economy and culture.

Our ambition is to understand the frontiers of technology, to demonstrate how rapidly the world is changing as a consequence, and to debate the challenges and opportunities of this.

ATS is structured around six clusters of events:

  1. DeepTech Tracks: These explore the cutting edge of technology and the big picture questions that emerging technologies create. Will Artificial Intelligence become self-aware? How to manage flying taxis, delivery drones and VTOLs? Can we meet a 2050 Net Zero target?

  2. Cross-Cutting Tracks: These sessions look at women in tech, financing tech investments, tech jurisdictions, and other popular themes.

  3. Policy Debates & Meet the Press: How do the European Union and the United States regulate social media platforms and misinformation? How will Huawei respond to the US microchip embargo? ATS Policy Debates provide a fascinating look at how societies look at the issue to tech regulation and investment.

  4. Pitching Sessions: Startups in each Deeptech track will present each afternoon, and a full day of additional pitching takes place with prizes awarded.

  5. Athens Tech Exhibit: In addition to startups, the public has the chance to meet some of the most innovative companies and technological discoveries. Everything from robots, drones and driverless cars to discovering the world of VR and the metaverse.

  6. Athens Talent Day: This event-within-an-event takes a deep dive into deeptech talent supply and demand, and provides space for recruitment sessions during the Athens Tech Summit.

As always, our social events provide a perfect opportunity for networking and discovery.

Tracks

Each track has been carefully curated to examine the key issues affecting the sector concerned. The tracks are co-curated by a leading institution and/or a leading tech firm, and the speakers have been chosen to reflect a mix of perspectives. In contrast to other events, we aim to explore the issues in depth, allowing time for speakers to explore a subject in detail, and for the audience to be able to interact and ask questions.

National Delegations

This year, we are welcoming national delegations from 10 countries as well as the European Union and its agencies. The delegations come from Armenia, Cyprus, Dubai, Greece, France, Romania, Switzerland the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

In addition to an exhibition of national startups, tax incentives, universities and other benefits, each National Delegation will also be presenting their investment jurisdiction in the investment sessions.

Financing Tech

As usual, we know that financing technology investments will be a big draw. This year we are providing a full day of sessions on financing tech, and are splitting our session as follows:

  • Public Institutions

  • Angel Investors

  • Venture Capital Firms

  • Other Investor Types, including Crowdfunding.
